Mythril Terms of Service

Last updated: July 23, 2025

TL;DR - Our Mission Is to help you build and protect generational stories

We built Mythril for one reason: to help writers write generational stories without compromising their creative rights. Here’s the short version of what you need to know:

  • You fully own your story. What you upload and what comes out of the AI is yours. We don’t train models on it, claim ownership, or license it out without your explicit consent.

  • AI can’t write the next great story. Our tools just help you do it faster, smarter, and with fewer plot holes.

  • No fine print tricks. We work with third-party AI APIs (Gemini, ChatGPT etc), but we’ve set things up to protect your data.

  • We never train models with your story. If that ever changes, we’ll ask for your clear, opt-in consent first.

  • We don’t sell your data.

  • We’re on your side. Mythril exists to empower authors, not exploit them.

Full legal version follows:

Thank you for using Mythril.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Mythril, a product developed by Mythril Platforms, Inc. (“Mythril,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), and include our Privacy Policy and any guidelines or documentation we make available. By using Mythril, you agree to these Terms.

If you are accessing Mythril on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

1. Who We Are

Mythril is an AI-assisted story development platform built for fiction writers. We help you generate dynamic story bibles, catch developmental issues, and build richer, more consistent worlds. Our system uses our internal frameworks alongside APIs from Google Gemini and OpenAI (ChatGPT) to generate responses.

2. Registration and Access

  • Minimum Age: You must be at least 13 years old to use Mythril. If you’re under 13, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

  • Account Responsibilities: You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and are liable for any activity under it. Don’t share your credentials or let others use your account.

3. Your Content

3.1 Input and Output

  • You may upload text files and provide written prompts or manuscripts ("Input") and receive AI-generated responses ("Output"). Collectively, Input and Output are "Content."

  • You fully own your Input and Output. As between you and Mythril, we assign any rights we may have in Output to you.

3.2 Data Usage

  • We never train models on your writing. Period.

  • We use third-party AI services (Google Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT) under paid developer agreements that prohibit them from training on your content.

  • We don’t retain your content long-term. Temporary caching may happen during processing but is wiped within reasonable time unless you explicitly enable longer storage (e.g. for drafts).

  • In the future, if we want to train custom models using user data, we’ll ask for your opt-in consent, and clearly explain what we want to use and why.

3.3 Accuracy and Review

AI is here to help, not replace you. That said, generated Output may contain errors, biases, or nonsense. It’s your responsibility to review and edit anything before publishing or relying on it.

4. Prohibited Uses

Writers are our priority, but to keep things fair and secure, you agree not to:

  • Use Mythril in violation of any law or third-party rights (e.g. copyright, privacy).

  • Upload content you don’t have permission to use.

  • Try to reverse engineer, extract, or replicate our system or the APIs we rely on.

  • Use AI-generated Output to train competing AI models.

  • Pretend AI-written text is fully human-authored in contexts that require transparency (e.g. journalism, academic writing).

5. Third-Party Services

We partner with:

We’ve chosen these APIs specifically for their enterprise support and stronger privacy guarantees. They may log inputs temporarily for abuse monitoring, but do not use your data to train models under our paid plans.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Mythril owns the Mythril platform, including the software, user interface, and workflows.

  • You own your stories. We don’t claim or license your work unless you explicitly sign a contract saying otherwise.

7. Cancellation and Termination

  • You can cancel your account at any time.

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or put other users at risk.

  • Inactive accounts (no logins for 12 months) may be deactivated after warning.

8. Disclaimers

MYTHRIL IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” Mythril DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OR USEFULNESS OF AI OUTPUTS. USE YOUR JUDGMENT.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Mythril SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR DATA. Mythril’S TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.

10. Indemnity

If you’re using Mythril on behalf of a business, you agree to indemnify Mythril against any claims related to your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Dispute Resolution

We’ll do our best to resolve any issues virtually and informally first. If a dispute arises, you agree to reach out to us in good faith before taking legal action.

If we can’t resolve it that way, you may choose to resolve the matter through binding ****arbitration or in the courts of Los Angeles County, California, under California law.

By using Mythril, you also waive your right to participate in class actions or jury trials. Disputes must be handled individually.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms due to changes in law or our platform. We’ll notify you of major updates 30 days in advance. Continued use means you accept the changes.
